Hemp seeds are incredibly versatile:

• Simply sprinkle over your dog’s food at the point of serving.
• For a special treat, combine with xylitol-free peanut butter or a little Greek yogurt or kefir.

• Toy dogs (under 4.5kg): 1/4 teaspoon per day.
• Small dogs (under 10kg): 1/2 teaspoon per day.
• Medium dogs (10–25kg): 1 teaspoon per day.
• Large dogs (over 25kg): 1 1/2 teaspoons per day.
• Extra large dogs (over 40kg): 2 teaspoons per day.

The one general rule for any ingredient in homemade dog food is that, protein aside, it should never exceed more than 10% of a dog’s overall diet.
