Minced Beef Training Treats

Ask any dog and they’ll tell you that minced beef dog training treats are just about the quintessential dog training treat. Minced beef has so much going for it. Dogs enjoy it to begin with. That always helps when you want to make a homemade dog treat you know your best friend will be happy to work for. And it’s just so versatile. You can combine it with more or less anything to create a treat most dogs would happily trade a sibling for!

INGREDIENTS

  • 500g (1lb) Minced Beef
  • 142g (1 ½ cups) Coconut Flour
  • 131g (1 cup) Tapioca Flour
  • 128g (4 ½oz) Carrots (shredded)
  • ½ cup Spinach (finely chopped)
  • 100g (3 ½oz) Cheddar Cheese
  • 2 Eggs (large)
  • ¼ cup Honey
  • ¼ cup Apple Sauce (unsweetened)

METHOD

Preheat oven to 400F/160C.

Line a baking tray and set aside.

In a medium sized bowl, add the eggs, honey and apple and mix. When mixed, add the other ingredients. Mix well until all the ingredients are combined.

Pinch off small pieces and make balls of the size you would like and place them on a baking tray. Bake until thoroughly cooked (about 15 minutes). Allow to cool before either storing in the fridge for up to 4 days or freezing what you don’t immediately need.

Mixture makes 60 rascals.

About this Recipe

To make these particular minced beef dog training treats we’ve combined the meat with flour, carrots, cheese, eggs, honey and unsweetened apple sauce. All dog-safe, human grade ingredients, which means these treats are safe for both your dog and the entire family to eat. If your dog will let you that is!

These are most definitely a treat you can share with your dog if your dog will let you. We’ve tried these with various friends, all of whom have been reluctant to share them with the dogs. In actual fact, the first time we made these ourselves, we had to make another batch for our dogs!

Be warned. Once you’ve tried these treats, you’ll be wanting to try more!
