Sunday Brunch

I called this one Sunday Brunch because I made it one Sunday morning midway between breakfast and lunch time. Brunch sounds so American, but actually it’s credited to British writer Guy Beringer who apparently coined it in 1895. How about that!

  • Lamb Heart, Tongue & Liver
  • Minced Lamb
  • Pumpkin
  • Swiss Chard
  • Runner Beans
  • Red Cabbage
  • Egg
  • Dog Chef Daily superfood supplement

Made with shop-bought lamb mince and organ meats from my local farm shop, pumpkin, chard, runner beans and red cabbage from the garden and eggs supplied by my own free-range chickens.

Completed this lamb dog food recipe with some of my own Dog Chef Daily for essential natural goodness!

As I’m very fond of saying, making homemade dog food does not need to be complicated. ‘Balance over time’ is what you’re trying to achieve when you make homemade dog food for your best friend. That means that each and every meal does not need to be balanced, because if you feed plenty of variety, balance will be achieved ‘over time’.

In this case I simply used what I had to hand. A bag of Booker lamb mince to which added some nutritious organ meats obtained the previous day from the lovely farmer who runs my local farm shop. He regularly supplies me with fresh organ meats which I chop up and bag up in cook-size portions. Everything else came from my own garden and was simply what I had to hand.

To make it I just set the slow cooker on low for 3 hours then topped off this lamb dog food recipe with Dog Chef Daily, some essential Dog Chef Calcium and a healthy drizzle of salmon oil.

As I’m very fond of saying, cooking for your dog does not need to be complicated to be healthy!
