As I’m very fond of saying, making homemade dog food does not need to be complicated. ‘Balance over time’ is what you’re trying to achieve when you make homemade dog food for your best friend. That means that each and every meal does not need to be balanced, because if you feed plenty of variety, balance will be achieved ‘over time’.
In this case I simply used what I had to hand. A bag of Booker lamb mince to which added some nutritious organ meats obtained the previous day from the lovely farmer who runs my local farm shop. He regularly supplies me with fresh organ meats which I chop up and bag up in cook-size portions. Everything else came from my own garden and was simply what I had to hand.
I then topped off this lamb dog food recipe with Dog Chef Daily, some essential Dog Chef Calcium and a healthy drizzle of salmon oil.
