This work of art went straight into the slow cooker after filming. Although I considered it a certain winner, The Turner Prize will just have to wait for another year. My dogs are more important!
This was cooked in a slow cooker on low for 3 hours and then topped off with my Dog Chef Daily superfood supplement, Dog Chef Calcium and some omega 3 rich salmon oil.
As I’m rather fond of saying, making homemade dog food doesn’t need to be complicated. This homemade chicken dog food recipe was made with nutritious chicken thigh from a certain well-known UK food wholesaler. I only ever feed my dog human-grade food and chicken thigh is excellent muscle meat for your dog, rich in essential nutrients.
The carrots, French beans, red cabbage, tomatoes and patty pan squash came from my own garden. The sweet potatoes came from my local supermarket and the spinach was bought frozen, again from the supermarket.
There’s nothing complicated about feeding your dog home cooked food. You just need to use high quality ingredients and include plenty of variety. This homemade chicken dog food recipe is a case in point!
