Chicken Thigh with Fruit & Veg
This chicken dog food recipe recently tickled the tastebuds of my two large dogs. Succulent and nutritious chicken thigh with choice fresh fruit and vegetables. No wonder they asked for seconds!
Just topped off this slow-cooked medley with my Dog Chef Daily superfood supplement, Dog Chef Calcium and some extra virgin Olive Oil by way of a change from their usual Salmon Oil. Well, you know what they say about variety!

I’m a great believer in feeding my dogs variety. It’s the way dogs were fed for thousands of years before the relatively recent introduction of commercial dog food. I so wish more dog parents were aware of that fact!
Dogs absolutely love variety. It’s in their DNA. So when I see something on offer in the supermarket, my dogs are the first ones I think of. Especially if it’s something they haven’t had for a while. These Kiwifruits are a prime example. A little unripe and somewhat sharp for my taste, they still hit the spot with my hairy children.
Chicken thigh is a staple in our house. In addition to having more flavour than chicken breast, it’s also richer in nutrients. As luck would have it, a certain well-known food wholesale operator sells these in 2.5kg trays at a more than reasonable price. Will definitely be making this chicken dog food recipe again in the very near future!
