My new shop
It’s taken me a while, but after a recent reminder from a friend, I’ve finally gotten around to creating my own shop on Etsy.
For anyone not familiar with Etsy (and where have you been all this time???), Etsy is a global online marketplace where people come together to make, sell, buy and collect unique items and products. The company helps small independent retailers like The Dog Chef reach a wider audience than otherwise might be possible.
A world of opportunity
More than just a website, it’s a whole world of opportunity for small independent retailers, and a whole world of discovery for anyone looking for unique gifts and products.
Setting up The Dog Chef on Etsy has been relatively simple, but as is usual with such things, the devil is in the detail. Setting up the shop was quite straightforward, but dotting all the i’s and crossing all the t’s proved to be a little more convoluted.
Up until now, my dog treat baking mixes have only been available directly from The Dog Chef, my Facebook shop and from my valued brand partner, Chelsea Dogs. As important as those outlets have been, there’s little doubt that Etsy opens up even further valuable opportunities.
Online retailing
Etsy is one of the biggest names in online retailing. Especially niche product online retailing. So getting The Dog Chef on Etsy is a big step for a small business like mine. And it’s definitely the place to be for manufacturers of unique, niche products handmade in small quanities such as my dog treat baking mixes and natural dog supplements.
All my products are handmade here in the UK which is important to so many of us today. So I do hope you will visit The Dog Shop on Etsy, and do please let me know what you think of it.
