Dandelion Root’s a Herb

Logic would dictate that if a plant has been around as long as 30 million years, it must serve some purpose, right? I mean it must be of some benefit to man or beast or we’d have found a way to eradicate it surely?

Well there are a number of very good reasons why the humble dandelion is still with us, and one of them is because its roots have medicinal value.

And not just for humans. Dandelion root for dogs has its uses too!

Dog Chef Daily

Dog nutritionist-approved.

Boosts the immune system.
Improves gut health.
Feed daily for best results.

Love it or hate it, the dandelion has benefited mankind for much of recorded history. Quite how they worked it out I’ve no idea, but its root is an excellent source of vitamins and minerals. The flowers and the leaves are no slouches in the nutrients department either!

The root of the dandelion contains vitamins A, C, K and B. And the root is a good source of calcium and choline, magnesium and potassium, zinc and iron.

Best of all, dandelion root comprises up to 40% inulin, a soluble dietary fibre which encourages the growth of friendly bacteria in the gut. This makes dandelion root for dogs highly beneficial to your dog’s digestive system. It’s also said to be useful in treating gallstones and gallbladder inflammation, as well as helping maintain healthy liver function and even benefiting dogs suffering from diabetes.

So for all its benefits to dogs, dandelion root forms part of my Dog Chef Daily. My very own plant-based daily superfood supplement for dogs that I developed some years ago in order to future-proof the health of my own dogs.

If you make homemade food for your dog, you'll need to supplement to make that food complete. My natural supplements are made in-house with canine nutritionist approved 100% natural ingredients with no additives or preservatives of any kind.
