Lean More on Lentils

Lentils are on the menu today. But the question many people ask themselves is, can I give my dog lentils?
Well, they’ve been part of the human diet for thousands of years and, by inference, part of the canine diet too. They are amongst the earliest crops ever cultivated by man. And yes, you can give your dog lentils!
Dog Chef Daily

Since we now know that humans and dogs ate exactly the same food for thousands of before commercial dog food came along, there’s every reason to assume that dogs have always eaten lentils too.
Lentils are particularly rich in B vitamins. They’re perfectly suited for any dog suffering from canine diabetes because they can help manage blood sugar levels. They can also help lower cholesterol and benefit both the immune and the digestive system. And they’re good for the heart and have natural cleansing properties which can help detox your dog’s body.
Cheap to buy, easy to prepare, packed full of nutrients and beneficial to the health of your dog, lentils have a lot going for them. They make an excellent addition to the diet of any dog. Especially one being fed a non-meat, wholly plant-based, vegan or vegetarian diet because they’re packed full of protein. Or if your dog suffers from digestive problems or diabetes.
And speaking of lentils in homemade dog food, here’s one I made earlier!
