Dog treats recipes are what I do
At The Dog Chef, I specialise in homemade dog treats recipes. It’s what I do. It’s my raison d’être. I treat therefore I am, as good old René Descartes might have said.
I’ve been creating recipes for dog treats for many years. It’s as the result of my dog treat experiments that I stumbled upon the idea of dog treat baking mixes. It was my ‘eureka!’ moment, as Greek mathematician Archimedes of Syracuse might have exclaimed.
Instead of just creating recipes for dog treats, turn those recipes into ready-to-bake dog treat mixes. Put all the required ingredients in a packet, add the instructions and a limited list of supplementary ingredients, and Bob’s your uncle as the popular saying goes.
Spoiled for choice
So that’s just what I did. Okay, with literally hundreds of homemade dog treats recipes in The Dog Chef dog treat recipe book I had to be a bit selective. To begin with anyway.
My head canine nutritionist is the fount of all knowledge when it comes to feeding dogs with fresh natural ingredients. He eats, sleeps and breathes dog food and dog treats. If a dog can eat it, he can come up with a recipe for it. What he doesn’t know about feeding dogs simply isn’t worth knowing.
To begin with though, I’ve limited my range of Bake & Treat dog treat baking mixes to just four recipes.
Liver Cake Training Treat Baking Mix
Bake your own healthy & 100% natural, wheat-free, gluten-free homemade dog treats!
Two training treats and two general-purpose treats. The kind of all-singing and all-dancing dog treats you can use for any occasion. ‘Goodnight, sleep tight’, treats. ‘Just popping to the shops, won’t be long’, treats. ‘Just because I love you’, treats.
Dog treats so good, you can eat them too
One of the things that surprises many people is just how good my homemade dog treats taste. Every single one of my mixes is made using 100% natural, human grade ingredients. So in addition to being dog-safe, they’re fit for human consumption as well. And because they contain no added sugar or salt, additives or preservatives, they’re exceptionally healthy too.
My Fresh Breath bone biscuits are a personal favourite of my team. Made with my Fresh Breath Biscuit Mix, they are just so deliciously minty and tasty. They’re just great with a hunk of cheddar and a cup of mid-afternoon tea.
Don’t just take my word for it though. Try them yourself. Just don’t tell your dog. Some dogs can be a little precious when it comes to sharing their treats. They might be share-and-share-alike dog treats, but it’s surprising how few dogs see them that way!
