DIY dog treats need to be healthy
DIY dog treats are something I’m often asked about at The Dog Chef. How can I know that the treats I feed my dog are 100% natural and safe is amongst many dog parents’ biggest concerns.
It is a worry. You read of so many pet product recalls these days. Recalls triggered by contaminants creeping into the canine food chain as a result of manufacturers continually trying to cut costs.
Of course there’s concern even when pet parents decide to go it alone and make their own dog treats. Certainly there are a great many recipes for DIY dog treats on the internet. But even then, how do you know what’s safe to give your dog and what isn’t? How can the average person be absolutely certain all the ingredients in any given dog treat recipe are 100% dog-safe?
My Bake & Treat dog treat mixes take all the uncertainty, all the guesswork out of making homemade dog treats.
I know that all my ingredients are dog-safe because my mixes are approved by my in-house dog nutritionist. What he doesn’t know about making homemade dog treats simply isn’t worth knowing. He’s an expert on feeding dogs with 100% natural food. He eats (yes, sometimes he really does), sleeps and breathes dog food and dog treats. It’s his raison d’être. It’s what he lives for. He’s so closely in tune with the nutritional requirements of dogs, rumour has it he was raised by wolves. Seriously!
Thanks to the expertise of my dog nutritionist, you know that what you’re giving your dog is natural, safe and, importantly, healthy. Because that’s another thing about my dog treat baking mixes. They make dog treats that offer your best friend health benefits as well. They contain healthy ingredients like spirulina, alfalfa and brewers yeast. Chia seeds, kelp and vitamin C-rich rosehips. Across my entire range, I use dozens and dozens of healthy, vitamin-rich herbs and spices.

When you reward your best friend, whether with training treats or comfort treats, dog cakes or dog cookies, you want the best for your dog. You want to know that everything you feed your dog is natural and healthy.
