About this product

These fish recipes for dogs are guaranteed to hit the spot with your constant canine companion. Dogs love fish, and as a canine nutritionist I can tell you that fish certainly love dogs too. Rich in omega-3 fatty acids, fish can help keep your best friend in tip-top condition inside and out. It’s easily digestible animal protein, low in fat, low in calories and rich in vitamins and minerals.

In addition to being beneficial for your dog’s skin and coat, fish is also good for the heart and the brain. Oily fish also has anti-inflammatory properties making it good for your dog’s joints. And it’s a highly digestible source of animal protein. So if your dog is under the weather or perhaps feeling the effects of age, fish is ideal for the sluggish or temperamental digestive system.

As a dog food consultant, I generally recommend pet parents feed their dog at least one fish meal a week. Ideally, I would like to see everyone feed their dog fish twice a week. Especially oily fish such as sardines, mackerel, herring and salmon.

Tinned sardines in particular are remarkably cheap, and a small tin goes a long way. And sardines have a number of advantages over most fish in the sea. Being small, they’re low down in the food chain. Sardines eat plankton. They’re generally sustainably caught and have one of the highest levels of omega-3 and one of the lowest levels of mercury of any fish. In my view, every dog should have a couple of tins of sardines each week.

Created by the Canine Nutritionist, these fish recipes for dogs are proving a big hit with dogs everywhere. I recommend you give them a try with your pooch. Better still, download my Homemade Dog Food Made Easy and give some of my other recipes a try as well.
