Canine Nutritionist

Canine Nutritionist Gerald Pepin is a leading advocate of homemade food for dogs. A leading dog nutritionist who consults with clients all over the world, he not only oversees my homemade dog food recipes, he also created my 100% natural dog supplements.

After serving with the Royal Navy from the age of 15, Gerald had many career stops before finally alighting at the specialist field of dog nutrition.

Today, from his base in rural Somerset, he regularly consults with clients as far afield as the USA and Australia, helping them address their dog’s health issues purely through dietary means.

Gut health is the key to overall good health in both dogs and human beings. By addressing previously undiagnosed underlying gut problems and formulating bespoke fresh food diets, Gerald is able to cure or improve most dog health problems that previously seemed entrenched.

Gerald is an expert on the history of dog food. Few people understand as well as Gerald that dogs and human beings have shared the same diet for thousands of years. Science tells us that we and our dogs have been sharing the same diet for at least 15,000 years. Although scientists can’t prove it yet, our shared dietary history may in fact date back as far as 35,000 years and perhaps beyond.

Long, long before the relatively recent birth of commercial food for dogs, dogs thrived on the same fresh foodstuffs we human beings eat and enjoy today.

He details many of them in his forthcoming book, From Table to Bowl.
